Finland won its third title of the ice hockey world championships after defeating Canada 3–1 on May 26, 2019. 10,000 people took it to the streets of Helsinki to celebrate. In Helsinki’s Market Square fans waved flags and, as per tradition, jumped into the fountain and climbed over the 111-year-old Havis Amanda statue. Surrounding streets were blocked as cars honked their horns and passengers waved flags out the windows.
