52 rolls: The beginning of the end of an era for Corona and a bit more glass blowing
On Tuesday it was announced that Rakennusmestarien talo (Construction foremen’s building) will undergo major renovation in 2019 and all the leases have been terminated. This means that the legendary Corona bar & billiard, established by Aki Kaurismäki, Mika Kaurismäki, Erkki Lahti and Kari Pulkkinen in 1992, will soon have to find new premises.
I passed by the bar on Tuesday night and took some photos. These were shot on CineStill 800T exposed at 3200 with Fujifilm GF670, the same roll I used to capture a couple of shots of another guy blowing glass at the Festival of Light at Tallipiha Stable Yards in Tampere. The black and white photos were shot on Ilford Delta 3200 at 3200 with Nikon F6. These are rolls number 16 and 17 of my 52 rolls project.
